1. Enhance and Establish English Language Skills

The courses for first year and second year mainly focus on speaking, reading, writing and listening to English. Third year and forth year are designed so as students make the transition from from first year and second year easily. In this way, the students gain highly developed English language skills that will enhance their ability when completing future study or in their future career.

Compulsory Subjects for Listening and Speaking

The compulsory subjects for listening and speaking are:

  1. English Pronunciation.
  2. English Reciting.
  3. English listening and speaking
  4. English Conversation
Compulsory Fourth Year Subject:
  1. Oral Communication

Writing skills are included in the following subjects:

  1. First year subject: Advanced English Grammar.
  2. Second year subject: English Composition One.
  3. Third year subject: English Composition Two
  4. Fourth year subject: English Composition Three.
The aim of including writing skills in these subjects is to ensure that students understand the connection between sentences and paragraphs, in addition students will learn how to write an essay correctly. Furthermore, the development of writing skills will assist the students to become proficient in writing narrative essays, descriptive essays, and argumentative essays, in addition to thesis research methods. Famous English speeches and selected readings in English and American literature are used to develop writing skills.

2. Cultivation of professional skills

Three English courses are available as follows:

  1. English Teaching Method
  2. Travel English
  3. English Translation

The English courses mentioned above have been carefully structured so as students gain the necessary English language skills that will suitably equip them for a successful future after graduation.

3. Second Foreign Language Learning

In order to enhance their understanding of globalization and languages, students can also take second foreign language courses. In first year, the second language courses are worth four credit points.

The second foreign languages that students can take are:

  1. Japanese
  2. French
  3. German
  4. Spanish
Students can continue the second foreign language they studied in first year in both second and third year. Second foreign language courses increase to six credits points in second and third year. Students taking a foreign language course will be required to attend four classes every week. Apart from the above-mentioned courses, there are a series of elective subjects that students may choose from as follow:
  1. Literature
  2. Linguistics
  3. Language Teaching
